A Welcome From Our Pastor

Welcome to our website.  Please take time to familiarize yourself with the First Family.  You will notice that we have many ministry opportunities and programs to offer.  It is our desire to meet the needs of individuals who are seeking love, fellowship, and a place to belong. The Lord has blessed the First Family with powerful worship through dynamic music along with the Biblically centered preaching and teaching.

We have been serving the Lord in Eastern Oklahoma County for 80 years.  Our desire is to continue spreading the love of Christ and meeting the spiritual and personal needs of those the Lord places in our path.  We would count it a privilege to have you be our guest on any Lord's Day or Wednesday evening.

I want to personally invite you to experience the warmth and love of Jesus at the First Baptist Church of Nicoma Park.  It is truly a place where you can belong!

How to Have Eternal Life

Becoming a Christian is a personal deliberate choice. No one can make that decision for you.  It doesn't happen by joining a church or deciding to start living a good life. You don't become a Christian by mentally accepting the teachings of Jesus Christ, or by hanging around Christians and attending Christian meetings.  The "ABC's of Salvation" are as follows:

A.   Admit that you have sinned.

To become a Christian you must recognize that you are separated from God because of your sins.  "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  (Romans 3:23)

Without acknowledging your sin, you will die in it.  "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life."  (Romans 6:23)

Admit your sins to God and ask His forgiveness (This is called repentance.) God provided forgiveness through Jesus Christ. "For sinners Christ died for us."  (Romans 5:8)

B.  Believe that Jesus died for your sins.

Becoming a Christian is receiving God's gift of forgiveness and new life.  It is receiving Christ into your life and turning your life over to His direction and control.  "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life." (John 3:35) "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13)

C.  Confess that Jesus is Lord.

The final step involves telling the world you believe in Jesus. "If you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess, and are saved."  (Romans 10:9-10)

Would you like to make this choice?  If you sense God leading you, you can do so right now. You can pray on your own this prayer.

"Dear God, I know that Jesus is your Son, and that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead.  I know I have sinned and need forgiveness. I am willing to turn from my sins and receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord.  Thank you for saving me. In Jesus' name.  Amen.
